I stumbled upon this book because I thought it was by the missionary Heidi Baker and was surprised it was written by a mother like myself who writes very moving and beautiful poetry. It was perfect for my heart and it has moved me and stirred things within me. I LOVE this book and will re--read it. I really appreciated this writers gifts and the way she shares her heart. BEAUTIFUL writing. Moving, real and poignant.This book ministers to my spirit in so many ways and levels. I see more of the beauty of my everyday life through this writers words. Thank you Heidi for sharing these poems!

Heidi Baker's poems took me to a place that I don't even have a name for. I meant to read just one a day, to give each one plenty of time to have its full effect on my heart. But I ended up reading them all at once, one right after another, unable to slow down and savor. In the process I was tossed from lighthearted glimpses of everyday life to the aching grief of loss to mysterious spiritual allusions. She carried me along with her as she explored her own unfolding, sharing her most intimate moments and leaving me with the feeling that I know my own self better as a result. This is what poetry is supposed to do - change the reader in unanticipated ways. I'm hoping this book will be followed by many more collections of Heidi's luminous writing.
This book is placed in with books by another popular author with the same name. Before you buy, make sure you have the right Heidi Baker. This is not the evangelical and healer Christian woman who works in Africa.
This is a small poetry book. These are soft, loving poems and if you are looking for a poetry book, this might be something you want to buy. It is only 52 pages long.
I've been a fan of Heidi Baker ever since I discovered her blog a few years ago on Open Salon. What I love about Heidi's writing is that it's not only beautiful, it's also something you connect with. The rhythm and wordplay she uses are like a spell Whether she's musing on things like love, family, or wanderlust, or vividly capturing an everyday moment or scene, Heidi's poetry makes you feel that you're there with her. Her words comfort, transport, and inspire.

As the journey ends, you're ready to begin the next one. One of my favorite lines in this book is "forgiveness is not the same as resilient". A true statement yet, one I've never considered. Heidi identifies love, sadness, hope, disappontment, happiness and more, one letter at a time in the book. I look forward to the many more works she has to offer. Thank you for this, Heidi Baker.
I chose this rating because anything that Heidi Baker or Rolland Baker writes is worth the price of the book and everything else in between. This woman is of God and is a blessing to the body of Christ. I will buy everything this woman writes. I recommend her other books and DVDs from Iris Ministries also.
Have not read as yet; however, saw Heide Baker on TV and after hearing her I knew I wanted to read her book - looking forward to it.
