I never actually believed I’d be my own boss.
Sure, I’d vaguely thought about it from time to time. Like everybody else, I’m sure I’ve gotten swept up in some dully romantic daydream about one day calling the shots, perhaps wearing the cliché hard hat in some factory directing imaginary labor forces with my free hand, a coffee in my other while looking over blueprints. Clearly, I didn’t delve very deeply into that imaginary scenario.
No, it’s safe to say I always thought I’d be working for somebody else. Punching in, lunching out, and crunching heads all day.
What I didn’t realize back then was that one day I’d be working from home. That I’d have no employees. That my customers would live all over the world. That I’d make a decent living selling things I enjoyed dealing with. That I’d be making money at all hours of the day, even while I slept, even while I write this sentence. (I just sold two toys to a gentleman in France for $40 plus $34.68 shipping, no joke. Just happened).
Truthfully, I’m already bothered that this sounds like an infomercial pitch, something that’s too good to be true, so, with that in mind, I’ll do my best to keep this completely authentic and filled with real life examples; stories that you can easily absorb now and recall later when you’re in charge and need guidance. There may be some redundancies, but a lot of what lies ahead takes gut instinct, most of which you’re born with -- and I’ll help you tune in to that -- and the rest is just learning what you care about, what interests you’ve developed over the years and what talents you didn’t know you’d soon be using.
I am just a regular Jack who found a way to be in charge of my own paycheck. Along the way there are going to be many way ups and some pretty low downs, it’s not all sugar and spice. But here’s how I became my own boss. And now I’m going to help you do it too.

This book was inspiring to say the least. I do a lot on EBay myself, these tips were all very helpful and really easy to apply. Many of the chapters of this book are great for people who are just beginning EBay. I was so impressed with how fun and easy this book was to read. I finished it in two sittings, I didn't want to stop reading it. The stories were so interesting and inspiring. I love that the authors made this book relatable to all readers whether young or old, or new to selling online or a veteran to this whole thing. I would recommend this book to anyone who is even slightly interested in selling on EBay. It really is much easier than I thought it was and the profits are incredible. I have tons of success stories with EBay. I only started a few months ago and this book was filled with all kinds of helpful ideas. I shop for most of my items at yard sales and flea markets but I never thought about buying new items that are on sale and then selling them online later on as the seasons change. Great tip! I too, haven't settled on one specific item to sell, I sell anything and everything that catches my eye and that I think I can turn a big profit on. You can also be successful! First, read this book and then go out and follow the steps and tips that you learned in it. You won't regret it. This book was a great buy!!!Product details

I truly enjoyed this book. It kept me interested and was a very easy read. The examples given really do show how selling on eBay and making an income is possible! I have basic computer skills and have been nervous about actually starting on eBay but would really like to sell some things. I shared this information with my two kids and now they are going through their things to sell. This will be a great way to get your spring-cleaning done. I'm so excited and can't wait to start. The book is a fun, energetic manual of what to do.... And just as importantly, what not to do. I highly recommend it for newbies as well as seasoned eBay sellers. Well done!!
I've never written a review before, but it was so good I felt obligated to. Part of the reason I felt obligated to is because the author comes across as such a decent guy, and so very genuine. This is a no B.S. book that delivers. Its primary focus is on being successful on ebay, however it is filled with a ton of advice as to where one could get new products to sell. Its filled with stories of problems and how those issue's where overcome dealing with the public. I was completely satisfied by the time I got to the end of the book, however, he apparently wasn't. The author through in a ton of form type responses dealing with everything from "Congrats on winning the bid" to "I'm sorry your not happy with x let me resolve it."
I'm not sure if I'm going to run out and try to make an income off of eBaying, but I feel confident that with a lot of hard work and this book, instead of a 6 month learning curve I could probably bring in a good $1200 or so in about half that time and maybe after nine months or so I'd get up to a livable income. I can see where the longer your doing this you'll be able to eventually have a fairly consistent $3000 a month income.
Its a short book, but well worth it, plus you'll get bonus points from God/the universe or whatever for buying from such a decent guy.
If your someone thats interested in becoming an ebay seller,, or even someone that has sold on ebay before,, this is a must read!!
I saw this item, and for a guy who had been a seller on ebay in the past I wanted to see if there was something there for me, as I was considering getting back in the BIZ!!
It's a powerful liitle book,, loaded with fresh ideas, as well as some old,, for anyone looking to get into ebaying,, or for an old timer like myself,, looking to do it again!!
There's information on how to list and sell items one already has on hand,, or to how to go looking for items to sell with ideas on where to find them!!
It focuses on proper listing procedures, how to deal with potential customer questions,, and how to properly deal with members that have made purchases,,and may have issues regarding purchase!! There's information on proper packaging and shipping,,, with plenty of other key points of interest!!
This ebook gives you all that and so much more!!

I just finished reading this and have to say it is a great book. I have been selling on ebay for several years but I still learned some new ideas. I was also happy to see that some of the things I already do with my little business are recommended by the authors. This is a fantastic book for the ebayer just starting out, but it's also great for those of us that have been selling awhile. I appreciated the fact that it was an easy read, no fluff. It gives you the information but also doesn't try to mislead, that you'll get rich from ebay. The title is very appropriate, How to ebay in real life...it is perfect for those of us who are leading real lives and need a way to make honest money
This book gives an entertaining look at the ups and downs of selling on eBay. The author and his friend had some great successes and a few bloopers that they managed to salvage and make right whenever possible.
I originally bought this book because I have sold things on eBay in the past, and like to read other people's experiences to learn from if I choose to sell more. I find myself to be more of a hobby seller... only selling a handful of things each year, I have read a couple other guides that fit my eBay style a little better.
The only thing that I would suggest is that the author explain approximately how much time he spends listing, packing, shipping, doing paperwork, budgeting, and searching/buying inventory. It seems like the hours put in are really high and the income could fluctuate too much to be a steady reliable income.
